Ron Zacapa is a Rum from city of Zacapa in Guatemala, just below Mexico.
The raw material is virgin sugarcane honey, which is the juice of the first squeeze of sugarcane.
Generally, Rum is made from sugarcane less, which are produced during the process of making sugar.
Ron Zacapa uses only virgin sugarcane honey.
This Virgin sugarcane honey is Ron Zacapa’s one and only flavor.
In addition, originally, Rum needs to be matured, slowly and carefully in a cool temperature.
Ron Zacapa is aged in the aging cellar at an altitude of 2300 maters.
This is because the cool temperatures required for Rum’s can be maintained year round at high altitudes, and the depth of flavor and aroma can be brought out by maturing in places with less oxygen.
The barrels uses for aging are charred white oak barrels, oloroso sherry barrels for wine, and Pedoroximenes barrels for white wine.
It’s bottled after alternating 4 blends and 5 long aging.
Aged in Ron Zacapa’s unique Solera system.
The fabric attached to the bottle is a Guatemalan traditional craft called “Petate”.
It is a fabric made from palm leaves, and it seems to have been used for the chairs that the lords sat on in the past.
